WickedLeak Wammy Titan 3

Wickedleak has officially announced the Wammy Titan 3 phablet for Rs.16,990. The phablet is already up for pre-orders on the company's official website, which says that the delivery is expected to begin from December 2013.

The Wammy Titan 3 is an Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean-powered phablet with dual-SIM slots and support for GSM+GSM. It sports a 5.7 inch full-HD (1080X1920) IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 390ppi.

Under the hood, it boasts of a quad-core MediaTek 6589 Turbo processor clocked at 1.5Ghz, bundled with a PowerVR SGX544MP GPU and 1GB of RAM. The Wammy Titan 3 sports a 13MP rear shooter with a BSI sensor, along with a 5-megapixel front shooter. It comes with 16GB of in-built memory, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

Connectivity options on the Wickedleak Wammy Titan 3 include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB and 3G. The Wammy Titan 3 comes with dimensions 157x81.5x7.9mm and packs a 3200mAh battery. The phablet includes a host of sensors, namely a gravity sensor, proximity sensor, light sensor, magnetic sensor, gyroscope, and magnetic sensor. The Wammy Titan 3 will be available in two colour variants - Black and White.

Facebook launches Internet.org Initiative To Connect The Unconnected World

To make the worldwide web available to two-thirds of the planet still not connected to the Internet Facebook announced the launch of Internet.org -- a global partnership with six other technology giants, namely Ericsson, MediaTek, Nokia, Opera, Qualcomm and Samsung.

According to Facebook, only 2.7 billion people — just over a third of the world’s population — around the world currently have access to the Internet. And, the goal of Internet.org is to connect the remaining five billion people and provide the same opportunities enjoyed by those in the connected third of the world.

On the launch of Internet.org, Zuckerberg said, "For nine years, we've been on a mission to connect the world. We now connect more than 1 billion people, but to connect the next 5 billion we must solve a much bigger problem: the vast majority of people don't have access to the internet.”



"There are huge barriers in developing countries to connecting and joining the knowledge economy. Internet.org brings together a global partnership that will work to overcome these challenges, including making internet access available to those who cannot currently afford it," he added.

According to Facebook, the partners will focus on developing technologies that make mobile connectivity more affordable and decrease the cost of delivering data to people worldwide. This would also include collaborations to develop lower-cost, higher-quality smartphones. They will also work on ways to use less data by improving the efficiency of the apps built and how they can help businesses drive internet access to get people online.

The Internet.org website is currently live and provides an overview of its mission and goals.

Recently Internet search giant Google announced its ‘Project Loon’, a balloon-mounted Internet access service that is expected to help provide Internet access to rural and remote areas.

Micromax Canvas Turbo Launched with 5-Inch Full HD Display and 2GB RAM at Rs 19,990

Micromax has launched the company’s latest flagship smartphone Canvas Turbo in India at Rs. 19,990. This is also the company's first flagship device coming with full HD display.Moreover, with Hugh Jackman as the new brand ambassador of the company, Micromax might achieve higher sales of this device in particular.

It has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera similar to the Canvas 4. It has Camerazzi camera which offers a lot of features including 360 degree panorama, Cinemagraph that lets usr animate still photographs (.GIF) and Object Eraser feature allows users to erase unwanted objects from still pictures that are shot with the smartphone.
